Hello and Happy December!
We have been very busy preparing for Christmas and have more great activities coming up next week. Here is our Christmas Spirit Week Activity Calendar:
Monday, December 14th – Red and Green Day – wear your favourite red and green clothes to help get in the Christmas spirit! (we will also be recording our classroom Christmas “Concert” on this day).
Tuesday, December 15th – Crazy Hair Day – channel your inner Cindy Lou Who and wear your craziest hair to school!
Wednesday, December 16th – Christmas Hat/Headband Day
Thursday, December 17th – Winter Wonderland Day – wear blue and white to celebrate this snowy season!
Friday, December 18th – Christmas Sweater or Christmas PJ Day (or a regular PJ day if you don’t have Christmas PJs!).
Last week we livestreamed our annual Advent Mass from St. Mary’s Church. It was lovely seeing our priests online and celebrating the Word of God together.
Your children are ROCK STARS! We have been working diligently to have the children wash and sanitize their hands frequently and they are doing an amazing job! They are great with wearing their masks in class and we all work together to keep our distance as best as possible.
With the cold, wet weather, we’d like to suggest that families send in an extra pair of mittens in a zip lock bag in your child’s backpack.
Brightspace Virtual Platform
We have set up our Brightspace “classroom” and added some online activities that we have been enjoying in class. Please feel free to help your child log in and have a look! We will be sending home their Brightspace QR codes – you will need to download the free app for the Brightspace Portfolio before using these. The QR codes will enable you to upload photos of your child’s work (if we have to move to remote learning). You could also use them if you’d like to upload a photo of your child doing an activity with the “Flat Baby Jesus” that we sent home at the beginning of Advent. Photos will only be accessible by classroom staff, not other students.
Thank you for your ongoing support!
We would like to wish you and your families a safe and happy Christmas holiday and a Happy New Year!
