Report Cards/Kindergarten Conferences

Term one report cards will be going home this Friday. Since we did not meet for conferences back in November, we would like to offer 15 minute Zoom conferences next week to discuss your child’s progress. These would be scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week between 6:30-8:00 pm and we would be using the same Zoom meeting room as when we were teaching remotely. We have sent a link to your child’s school email with the schedule for you to sign up on and will send the zoom meeting link next week (in case you don’t still have it on the family computer). Time slots will be first come, first served. Looking forward to seeing all of you!

Valentine’s Day/Family Day

We celebrated Valentine’s Day and Family Day and we hope that the children enjoyed their virtual Valentines this year!  Over the past few weeks, we have shared many Valentine stories and stories about our families.  We have been discussing how we are all part of many families-our Home Family, Classroom Family, School Family and God’s Family.  We made Valentine crafts and we have been practicing simple symmetry by folding paper and cutting out hearts and other shapes.

Last week, we missed Shrove Tuesday at school (snow day!), but we participated in a virtual Ash Wednesday Liturgy, led by Father Jim Saginario. We have been preparing our hearts for Easter by praying extra prayers and working to be kinder and more helpful to our classmates. We are writing down our kind acts on leaves and adding them to our cross “tree” in our window.

Pink Shirt Day

We have been reading stories about kindness and tomorrow (Wednesday, February 24) we will promote anti-bullying by wearing pink shirts and listening to the story of how Pink Shirt Day originated.

Happy Birthday Sister Catherine Donnelly! (1884-1983)

On Friday, February 26, we will celebrate our school namesake’s birthday by wearing school colours of green, blue and white. We continue her legacy of kindness, service and education every day in our school.
